THIS SATURDAY FOR NUIT BLANCHE

Project 165 presents
NUIT NOIR II
a Non-Nuit Blanche Nuit Blanche party
Saturday, October 2
7am - 7pm
165 Augusta Ave
Kensington Market

Nuit Noir II is a gloriously independent celebration of creative indulgence, "undefiled wisdom" and the vital existence of unsanctioned cultural activity during Toronto's most artful night of spectacle. This is the event horizon of the black hole that is Nuit Blanche - a cosmic point-of-no-return. ... Cross this imaginary line, leave our universe behind - for good.

This dusk-til-dawn art party offers visual art and a band every hour punctuated by performance art, comedy, spoken word and other actions - plus all-night special coffee service to help you stay up to see the light.

Participants include Aleks Bartosik, Alex Bowron, Bobby Mair, Cassandra Witteman, David Bateman, David F.M. Hanes, Daycares, Dog is Blue, garbageface, Gardenia, Good Clean Fun, Jon McCurley, Kira Sheppard, Laura Heaney, MC Fubb, MJ Cyr, R Mirsky, Orang Pendek, Romo Roto, Ryan Ringer's Let's Get Together for Coffee, Tanga Party, Tiny Mountains and others TBA.

Says Project 165's Director and Chief Curator, Ryan Ringer: "As a point of resistance, this is an opportunity to demonstrate that '"the best this creative city has to offer"' includes much more than official selections. In fact, some of the best stuff going on during Nuit Blanche is unofficial."

About Project 165: Project 165 is an artist-run space in Toronto's Kensington Market that houses a "gallery" and affordable artist work studios. Much like most other artist-run spaces, it is a stage for interaction, performance and cultural negotiation.

I can feel it... I can feel it...

This week is all about the pressure. This whole month has been building up for this week and it's stressing me out so much! I'm not even entirely sure how I got to this point in one piece. I keep looking at my cards and expecting this mind-blowing shift in my life. I think it is time to crack down. Crack the whip on my back and make my life move forward. I've had enough of the stagnation that has been taunting my life with a tight noose. Iron Fist is right. I gotta get the fuck outta this grip!

There is no table in my kitchen and it is kinda funny eating all my food in a chair with a ghost table. I feel kinda like I am still living in a squat above the store front we covered in Kurt Cobains face... hahaha. I miss that place. I remember this one night we all drank alot of whiskey and had waaaay too much spraypaint fumes up our noses. We threw a chair into the wall and cut my friend Sarah's leg open with a sheet of glass. She was so delirious that we just kept going till all the blood drained from her face. The hospital is where we all spent our morning. What a summer...

I really need to do the things I need to do. It's time. Now.

Seasonal Punk-Rock Theme Songs

This past summer I got a really powerful feeling towards a particular punk song from my early teen years. It struck me hard and, considering my life style this past summer and the various illegal/bad things I'd get up to with others, I felt it applicable to connect with my counter-cultural roots.

classic track right?

Well, as the summmer passed and the feelings I had in the summer passed I felt a void in the PUNKROCK theme. I kept loose tho, theme songs need a good moment to arise and just as I expected the Fall 2010 PunkRock Theme Song came to me in a thunderous passion... and, for now, that's all I gotta say.

- I wanna take this chance to thank Rich Forbes for playing my song request lastnight -

CARD OF THE DAY - 10 of Wands

Along with my own daily readings, I like to pull a single card at the beginning of each day. Starting today, I would like to share with you the single selection that I will be making each passing day. After 10 days I will do a celtic-cross reading of each of the daily selections.

THANKS EH

a good way to end a calm night.

okay, i know that this is a little too "dark side" but it's quite good... I mean relaxing and visually blissful. someone out there gets it, I think. this is nice for two friends enjoying time alone and together. I am thankful for those kinds of friends. I am also quite thankful for meeting people that just enjoy me and my presence. I love a friend that can enjoy a silence.

HEYHEYCROOKER

know this feeling?

you know when you take on a project as a favor for someone, who you assume is legit and holds weight in their words, but then turns out to be more trouble than it's worth? that's kind of the feeling I'm getting from this new video I am working on... got all the footage but don't got the heart to care. Fuck. Tomorrow is gonna be a forced day. LET-ME-TELL-YOU.

new drawings feel great. so many amazing words in the world. Triple combos is my new style. 1.2.3. I've been trimming some roots lately. My branches are thickening and my trunks' got some tuff bark. haha...

I cannot stop listening to this track.

I should talk to my friend Eric Sims and do music videos. I want more money. terrible way to feel, right?
Lastnight was funny... sipped some crazy blended drink filled with vodka, beer, lemon concentrate, ice, wine, and... something spicy??? it was mind blowing.

Today is a day of liberation.

heavy visions.

"Marshal McLuhan's global village idiot, a/k/a Bloom – on a chat, facebooking in the afternoon, writing back emails, sexting with two fingers – has been here since tribal times, has been educated by humanists, has been employed, has been sent to war and the mall. He accumulates at the bottom of web pages, he deletes his spam and clicks his links, and he is also the social animal of olde – sitting in bars, clinking glasses, bumming cigarettes, gossiping about this or that show, about someone's article or review, about a documenta, about the market, about history and literature and philosophy, about how things are in Berlin, how things are in New York. In-between combat operations, he is holed up in the barracks at his base camp, overdosing on pop culture online and playing with his army-gym body in front of a mirror/camera."
